My greatest struggle of making money online..

It’s been another week of money making efforts, and i’m feeling kinda exhausted after so much work with experimenting with Keyword Elite, the software i purchased to find profitable keywords, as well as setting up Adwords campaigns.

It can be extremely disheartening and frustrating when you invest $400 in online ebooks, software, and ad campaigns, and not produce a single cent out of your marketing efforts. But i’m not giving up, because making money online is not an overnight thing and that has led me to ponder about the factors i really learnt throughout this time:

Focus

Much too often, i’ve started so many different things on the internet at one time, like buying an ebook about secret tips of affiliate marketing, doing keyword research, setting up Squidoo pages, doing referral networking and ended up not gaining anything out of them. And when the going ges tough or i don’t see results, i’m tempted to give up and move on to the next affiliate program, the next ad campaign.

But i’ve learnt that being focused on one thing at one time pays off big time, if we really decide to stay faithful to the things we’re currently doing. During my time working as a tele-receptionist in April, i only bothered about building the Hits4pay referral network every night after work, and it led me to venture into promoting Buyrefs.com as an affiliate in the Slashmysearch forum(discreetly of course..). Guess what? I was pleasantly surprised to find that i earned $27 in affiliate sales two sundays ago!

That the power of focus.

WoooHooo!

Received my first Paypal payment from BuyRefs.com today! For every purchase my downlines do, I earn 10% of it. So i received my first payment of USD$27.48 in my PayPal, and was pleasantly pleased!

To request payout, you need to send an email to info@buyrefs.com, request for your payout, provide your Buyrefs username, and your paypal account email.

Janna will usually pay you within the day itself!

I wrote an email to Janna de Bruijne , the owner of Buyrefs.com, to tell him how pleased i was with his prompt payout and service. So, if you wanna buy referrals do consider getting from this company. It’s worth it!

Do check out Buyrefs.com below:

Yup, I’m extremely delighted as it’s my first ever payment online haha.

Money Making Timeline

I started off in March 2007 officially with the aim to break into making money online. It was a very messy journey at first, but i’ve charted out the focus i want to take. Through this almost 3 months, i’m quite glad that i’ve managed to at least make my first $71.7 through lots of hard work and research!

My personal goal when i started off was to start creating a steady stream of side cash to supplement my NS(National Service) income when i am in the army in July. However, though it looks like i’ve earned so little these three months, I constantly believe that making money online is not a short term thing that makes you rich overnight, but that you’ll need to have a long-term mindset. Through it all, the small seed profit of $71.71 i believe it will begin to snowball, as i learn more and keep persevering.

Here are the chapters of my progress since March:

Mid March 2007:A New Beginning

The interest to make money online seriously was stirred up in me when I had just graduated from my polytechnic, and i was worried about my university fees after a talk with my dad about him having to strive so hard to support 2 families, my grandma, my auntie, and me. So, i remembered the potential of the Internet as a source of income besides working for people, that if i really learnt to do it and was successful, it would remove a heavy financial burden for my dad. So, I did some research, and i decided to do the ProfitLance course, which I purchased online for $67.

I learnt alot about the basics of internet marketing through that course, and that was where my mindset towards making money online began to change, to a long term view. Till today, i’m still a member, and i occasionally return for information and tips. It was high quality, and kudos to Mr Micheal Andrews, the founder, who really has a passion to help other people succeed online!

I also tasted the most failure and setbacks here, when i made the costly mistake of setting up 4 MFA(Made for Adsense) blogs, and tried to promote them for the sake of getting a quick buck. At first, i got my friends to help click the ads, but then i realise that my blog wasn’t having much visitors, and that i was earning money the black hat way, in addition to costing me tons of wasted hours maintaining those blogs.

Lesson Learnt: Count the cost before you do anything!Don’t start what you can’t finish..

End March-Mid April 2007:Anticpating the future

I had not really made any money online yet, but i planned to build a steady and fixed base of income sources before venturing out to do affiliate marketing. During this period, my two main income sources were my day job as a tele-receptionist(I was fortunate to get this job!), and my referral networking programs like Hits4pay.com and Slashmysearch. I decided in the beginning that i would earn some income first from them, and then invest some of the earnings back into tools and ebooks that i could learn from.

I begun my day job on April 2 at my tele-receptionist company, working odds shifts from 1-10pm daily and paid me $7/hour.(That’s why i was so fortunate to get the job through a friend!) . In the meantime, i worked on promoting my referral programs Slashmysearch and Hits4pay aggressively when i had the free time.

Lesson Learnt:If you do not plan your financial resources, you plan to fail!

Mid-April-End-April 2007 :Strategizing And Executing Plans

This was also where i started poring over books about making money through network marketing at Times bookstore. One useful tip i learnt about network marketing was the power of the old fashioned business card. Being inspired by the credibility a business card builds for me, i went to apply and create 300 business cards which i designed myself for the Hits4pay program.

I also designed posters, and pasted them at bustop classified boards, and hid my business cards secretly between bookshelves and books at libraries, bookstores like Times! Could you imagine the results i got from that?

I had 10 referrals from that secret tactic in just 2 weeks! in the meantime, i posted and participated alot in the Slashmysearch forum, and by the month end, i had about 60 referrals in my Hits4pay downline from people clicking on my signature in the forum, business cards, friends, and psoting on Friendster bulletins. I even had a telephone call from an anonymous guy in Singapore who saw my business card somewhere and was keen to join Hits4pay. (he later became my downline!). The power of the business card haha.

Ok, i bought some 25 referrals too from Buyrefs.com for about $7.95, and was pleasantly pleased with the fast delivery of referrals. However, only about 30% of my purchased referrals were active, but still they contributed to my earnings significantly.

However, it was my most strenous month, as i worked from 1-10pm daily, and had to juggle between work and focussing on my referral programs. I frequently slept at 3 am daily just to post in forums, and to do research about ways to increase my referral downlines. But i feel it has paid off well, because now i have a consistent base of downlines who earn me about $1 weekly.

Lesson learnt: Hype in a new thing will drive us to our keyboards for awhile, but passion will drive us to success.

End April- Mid May: The Trickle Begins To Pour In

Starting beginning of May, I started seeing trickles of income start pouring in from my efforts. However, my greatest achievement so far was the closing of an affiliate sale on Buyrefs.com as i earned USD$27.94 on May 18!

Here are my earnings report so far(In Sing Dollars):

Income Source $

Buyrefs.com 42.18

VistaPrint 3.02

SlashMysearch 6.04

Hits4pay 5.33

Bloggerwave 15.1

Total: 71.7

Through it all, I’m now game set for earning greater profits online! My future plans now include investing $180 in Keyword Elite, a high quality keyword research tool to dominate my Google Adwords campaign, and to make $100 in affiliate sales by month end.. Yup, so stay tuned for more!

Lesson Learnt: Never underestimate the day of small beginnings!

First Post

It looks like the blog is very stark black in color, but i love the design, especially the search box! Well done rkcorp!

Well, i’ll include updates of my money making journeys pretty soon! Stay tuned!

The power of mindsets..

Now i wanna share my thoughts haha…

I believe the Spirit has been starting to do a work of breaking the constricted mindsets we’ve all begun to harbor in our lives. I ‘m starting to see that our level of fruitfullness in ministry, in our secular jobs, in our academics etc.. is only limited by our mindsets!

Just think about these familiar scenarios that i’ve always asked myself:

1.Why does my cell feel so dead and dry every week? PnW sounds like a karaoke sessions.

2.Why can’t i seem to communicate well and confidently with certain people in my life like my sheep, my peers etc.?

3.Why do i feel that i’m not really doing anything worthy and valuable for the ministry?

4.Why do i always feel so self pity?

5.Why do i feel visionless?

See..I’ve realised that asking these questions is also a constricted mindset in itself! And what a limited mindset i have! As long i’m asking ‘Why’ all the time, change will never come. As long as i ponder and try to identify solutions to these ‘why’ questions, i’ll always remain in the same place.

That’s why our cells don’t grow to their potentials! That’s why our spiritual lives are still at point A all these months! That is why our lives and cell group feel so dead and quiet…. because we’ve been asking too many ‘whys’ and have stopped seeing the ‘What-Ifs’!

It all boils down to a decision of the mindsets we harbor in our heads. The greatest threat to the devil is not the next great move of God we experience in our lives and in our cells, neither is it the number of souls that we’ve ’supposedly’ brought to church. The greatest threat to the devil is when the real sons and daughters of the house of the Lord start seeing the prophetic destinies God has placed in their lives, and then, they begin to step into it! We can have many saved members in church, but if they do not step into their destiny, they are just pew-warmers. We can raise a gazillion leaders in the ministry with the finest training and inspirations, but as long as people do not see the mind-boggling destiny God has ordained for their lives, they live in a life devoid of power and vision!

To begin to learn to see the prophetic destinies God has for us, we must first begin to break our man-made, limited mindsets. One mindset i struggle with is that i always question: Why isn’t my cell so passionate for God? Then i realised that i can’t blame my cell members, but that it has got to do with the leaders not teaching them how to be passionate for God. And the reason the leaders do not teach is because we ourselves have got the same mindsets. Here are 3 mindsets that i outrageously hate:

1.It’s good to dream big dreams, but please be factual and realistic now.

I acknowledge that people who dream tall dreams every hour but do not lift a single finger to take action, are just NATO(No Action, Talk Only). However, I prefer to err towards this side, because to dream is better than not to dream at all! Yes, sometimes the dreams God has placed in me seems impossible and totally unrealistic now, but if you really believe the dream will be fulfilled, only the sky’s the limit. I’ve got dreams my entire extended family will get saved one day, but i remember people telling me i should start with just one family member years ago. In just the past 2 years, 2 cousins, 1 auntie, my mum, sister and bro got saved, all without me even preaching Christ to them! God surpassed my expectation and faith..Anyone dare to ask me to dream about getting 1 soul saved only still?

Yes, it is true it is a fact now that your family isn’t saved. But what are you gonna do about that fact? Let facts lead you to dream dreams, not control your dreams!

2.You’re faith level is higher than mine. So, i don’t think my dream will happen.

Nowhere in the Bible does Jesus say that we should compare our level of faith. It is true that God has planted a measure of faith in every heart, small or big, but size does not matter, because as long as we look around and think others have got bigger faith than us, we are unknowingly squeezing ourselves into a mold of self-pity and envy.. Come on! Jesus said if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to a mountain “Move!”, and it will be cast into the sea! Visionless people always compare others to themselves, because they do not see the prophetic destiny God has for them. Stop comparing, and start seeing!

3. I have no control over my mindsets. The enemy has control over them.

This the greatest lie from the pit of Hell, that you have no power to change your mindset, and that the devil can read your mind, every thought of it. Too often we spiritualise things, like “The devil has been affecting my thoughts with evil pictures”, when actually the fault lies with us not taking responsibility to guard our mindsets! It’s true that Satan has been long around enough to know human behavior patterns, but realise the truth that only God created you, and so only He knows every single thought you have within. Plus, God gave us the gift of will(i.e choice) to make decisions. So if you feel you’ve lost control of your mindset, you’re believing Satan’s lie. Right now, where-ever you are, be bold and make a conscious decision to guard your mind with the Blood of Christ! You only lose your mindset when you willingly choose to surrender control of it to the devil…
