Do your research well before you get fooled into any “get-rich-quick” scheme..
Do a google search and type terms like “make money online”, or “how to get rich quick”, and you’ll find tons and tons of affiliate marketers shoving their products that promise to make you rich in just a few hours or a few weeks, if you would just buy their hyped up ebook or money making system. Things such as the “Ultimate Wealth Package(UWP)”, which i’m definitely against are just some examples of these ‘gurus’ who claim they can teach you all the secrets towards making big money online..
Well..here’s where my discussion lies. It is true to a certain extent that these people are true blue marketers, who lead the edge in terms of dominating the online marketing arena of their niches, like body supplements for example.. However, more often than not, they over-exploit the benefit of hype and hit unsuspecting prospects at their weakest point, which is often a introductionary tagline that sounds like this :
“Have you grown tired of shelling hundreds of dollars on useless ebooks and hypes that tell you this is the next big thing on the Internet? Well, i’ve been there before, and have lost thousands before, but let me tell you the secret i discovered that helped me earn $3000 a day now!”
If written well, such ad-copy are directed at idetifying the prospect’s need at that point, which is that they have tried and wasted their money on other such ‘make-money’ claims, but have not seen results. And then the ad proceeds to give a promise that the owner claims will change their life around..
That’s the trend i’ve noticed, and the bigwigs of affiliate marketing like Ewen Chia also use those marketing tactics in their ad-copies..That’s why their ad-copies are killer ad-copies that convince prospects to fork out their cash, but often they end up dismayed to find that it is only an ebook.
Being around long enough researching such tactics, i’ve come up with my own evaluation process whenever such an ad-copy grabs my eye. I always believe in doing proper research and being patient, as it will really pay off in the long run!
Here’s an example of the research i did before purchasing the Profitlance course I often rant about as a great quality product:
1. Did a Google search and examine what others are saying. Were there more hype than genuine reviews on the search results?
2. What were people talking about in the forums about that product?A good forum is the getpaidforum.
3.Was the product a scam? This was the most important cash-saver!I found out other people’s comments first. A good place to start is www.scam.com
4. Was the deal too good to be true? (If the person selling the product or service claims you can be rich, but requires you to first pay an upfront admin or membership fee of $60, then that’s something fishy. A rule of thumb: You should never pay to join a membership, unless it is a good course. The rationale behind this is if these people claim you can be rich and boast that they are awfully rich in their Clickbank accounts, why do they need your money in the first place right?)
5. Once convinced the product owner was not bogus, i proceeded to compare and find out if there were other similar but free or cheaper products out there that could provide the same service or benefit. One example for me was comparing between whether to purchase a keyword research tool (Keyword Elite) for $167 or to use the free Google Adwords Keyword Tool for my ad campaigns. I chose KE, because i wanted to do serious keyword research on a big scale, something the free Google service can’t offer.. It really depends on your circumstances.
6. When convinced the product was worth it, was there a money back gurantee? Those without money back gurantee should be avoided!
7. BUY!
Yup..those were the steps i took.. A simple checklist even a kid can master, but it did help me make wise purchasing decisions that have served me well. It always pays in the long run to take a cautious and disciplined approach before buying anything, even in day-to-day purchasing decisions!
