3 Great tips to find the hottest keywords being searched for your niche!
I will share 3 simple tips i have personally learnt to find the most heavily searched keywords on Google and other search engines, but yet have moderate or low competition, that have brought in good profits for me!
1. Build an extensive keyword list, and then ’scrub’ it!
In order to dominate your niche market, you must try to identify as exhaustively as possible, every keyword and keyword phrases that relate as specifically as possible to your niche. Remember, being as specific as possible with your keywords is the key to sending highly targeted quality traffic. Start by using free keyword research tools such as WordTracker Keywords tool to build your initial list of about 1000 words, and drill down(or scrub as i would call it) to include only about the top 50 most related keywords. For example, if you are promoting satellite TV on PC software, three good keywords are:
“satellite tv on pc”
“live tv on pc” ”
live tv on your pc”
For convenience’s sake, i prefer to utilise a personal keyword research software called Keyword Elite that has saved me countless hours generating massive lists of up to 5000 keywords at one go as the free ones generally have limits (100 words max etc for WordTracker). It has also given me the unfair advantage over other marketers as i can very quickly research and implement highly targeted Google Adwords campaigns that have cut my Cost Per Click (CPCs) by nearly 80%!

2.Look out for high KEI, but low R/S ratio keywords.
KEI stands for Keyword Effectiveness Index, while R/S ratio stands for the ratio of page results for a keyword to the number of searches actually made. In short, a savvy Internet Marketer will aim for keywords with High KEI, but low R/S ratios, because it gives you an indication that there is little or no competition (Results) for the keyword, but that it is being heavily searched (Searches). I have discovered from experience that even in niche markets with heavy competition, there are often overlooked keywords that have high KEI, but low R/S ratios. For example, in the Online Opportunity Seekers niche (i.e people who will do anything to earn money online), i found that the keyword “make quick money online” has a very low R/S ratio of 0.01, but an extremely high KEI of 79,600! This is a keyword coming from a market that is extremely saturated with tons of affiliate marketers selling their ebooks and online courses!
3.Look out for “long tail” keywords.
Long tail keywords are basically multi-phrase search queries which visitors use on search engines to arrive at your website. These longtail keywords are much more targeted than the general or main keyword topic as they literally represent a visitor’s need for specific information. The most important benefit of using long tail keywords is that visitors to your site convert much better, as they already have a very specific product or service they need for their needs. For example, the keyword “ford cars” will not really convert well, but the keyword “ford mustang coupe auction” will convert visitors better if you are promoting an auto auction service. Long tail keywords can also be researched through free keyword tools such as WordTracker, but i would still use Keyword Elite for all it’s convenience and speed!
Those are my 3 steps to looking for specific, yet highly searched keywords for your niche market. I hope it helps you, and you should really consider using the Keyword Elite Keyword Research Tool for speeding processes up for all 3 steps mentioned above.
So, remember to build a core of specific, low competition but highly searched keywords for your niche market, and you will soon get the advantage over others.
