 
5 Free Traffic Generation Methods…Which one suits you?
While I know there are paid ways to generate traffic, such as traffic exchanges and Google Adwords, I still prefer to utilise free traffic generation strategies. The method I use most for generating traffic to my affiliate pages and websites is through forum marketing, followed by article marketing. I don’t normally go for paid traffic because it can be expensive. However, I do use other methods too from time to time.. I will share in this post about 5 free methods anyone can use:
1. Forum Participation
Do take advantage of online forums. The great thing about forums and online communities is that you can target a certain group that fits the certain demographic that you are looking for. You can discuss about lots of things about the niche that you represent or offer. Another great advantage is that you know what you are getting into and you will be prepared. Personally, I am actively involved in the SlashmySearch forum, and i’ve made sales from there before promoting referral signup services. I post about 5 times a week on that forum, which translates to about 20 posts in one month.
A great forum to start with is the Digital Point forum.
2. Newsletters
Similar to opt in email lists(because the newsletters are sent via email).Provide people with a catalog of your products and interesting and entertaining articles. If you make it really interesting and entertaining, more people will sign up for your newsletter and recommend it to other people. The more people who sign up for your newsletter, the more people there will be that will go to your site increasing your traffic. I have not really tried this tactic out yet, but i know that it works very well and builds credibility between you and your readers.
3.Exchanging links
Another great idea is trading links with other sites. You dont have to spend a cent. All you have to do is reach an agreement with another webmaster. With exchanging links, the efforts both sites do will benefit both sites. Every traffic that goes to the site could potentially click on the link of your site and visit your site as well. This works well especially when both sites feature the same niche. Also, Google does rank pages high for sites with lots of incoming links, so links are very important.

4. Article Submission
This is my personal favorite method..Let me tell you why..I published 2 articles back in end March on ezinearticles.com, and got an affiliate sale from one of the articles on “Internet Entreprenuership” on Jun 7.. Now, that’s like 2 months, but as i measured my article stats for that article like how many page views and outgoing clicks I had from my article link to the affiliate page, I had about 177 pageviews, and 33 link clicks. Of these linkclicks, 1 ended up buying the product i was promoting. Now, that’s a conversion ratio of 3.03%!
Now just imagine if you only wrote another 50 articles, for different affiliate products you are promoting, and gave yourself 2 months and a 50/50 chance of getting a sale within that time and your average commission is $40…that would be 25 articles with a sale each, and a profit of $1000 just doing nothing but money pouring in on autopilot!
However, you must write quality and eye-catching articles, otherwise people will simply pass you by. Writing articles that you have good knowledge to other people would provide the necessary mileage for your traffic flow needs. Trust me!
5.Writing Great content on your site
This is rather self-explanatory. If you have a very unique, world-changing, controversial or first hand article no one else has, people will start pouring into your site and they will begin linking back to you! Imagine an writing article about what you did today, as compared to an article about “Warren Buffett gives away 3/4 of his wealth” . Obviously the first article will bore the reader to death if it is uninteresting!
Yup..so put this 5 methods into practice and start seeing your traffic increase pretty soon.. But which free method do you use most? I would like to hear!
