When first started out and really got involved into the world of Internet Marketing, I had set a goal, and that was to make my first $1 online by early April, and then to make $50 by end May, and finally to reach my targeted goal of $1000 by year end! I thank the Lord that i managed to hit the first two goals, although with lots of hard work and time, with His grace and favor the main elements of success!All the glory belongs to you, Lord!

However, one thing that I really desire to do, and it is one of my dreams for the next 5 years is to learn the skill of generating income from Internet Marketing, and to use a portion of those funds to help fund a Bible fund to buy affordable but good bibles for new salvations in the Lord Jesus who can’t afford to purchase bibles, and from there in the long run, to give every soul in South-East Asia a Bible on the streets(or at least an electronic form of it) . Besides simply earning income online, I believe that godly success comes to those who can give in generousity their income to invest in what I believe is the most important investment vehicle in life: People.

Money is physical and will perish when our earth and the heavens pass away at Jesus’s return, but the investment of the Word of God in the form of the Bible will remain as eternal treasures in people. When I get to heaven, besides hearing the Lord say: “Well done good and faithful servant! Enter into the joy of the Lord!” which will be the greatest satisfaction of completely fulfilling His Will for my life, the second thing I would want to hear in Heaven is from saints who will say to me:”Hey John, you may not remember me so well, but you were that guy who gave me a free Bible when I accepted Jesus in secondary school, and I migrated to another country after that. But your investment of the Word in my life caused me to live a life of legacy for others to follow, because I was so hungry to know who God is and to make others hungry to know Him!”

Anyway, back to the down to earth stuff here…

Since starting out in March, i’ve seen only a trickle of income coming into my bank account (SGD$55.5 to date in my PayPal account), and have spent about SGD$450 purchasing IM materials such as Ewen Chia’s IM ebook, but the most costly investment I made was in a keyword research tool which cost me SGD$250 for 2 licenses.So in terms of percentage, my return on investment (ROI) still stands at 12.2% (negative though), having made $55/450= 0.12, or about 1/9 th of my invested cost.

Now, if i had started off in my IM quest in March haphazardly and if someone were to ask me, “Do you regret that it has been a complete waste of money to spend that $450???, my first answer would definitely be a big “YES!”. However, the truth is that I do not regret that hefty investment, because i do know that in every great thing that you wanna do, there is a cost to pay. I believe that all the products i bought online were genuine and high quality products, such as Brad Callen’s Keyword Elite research software which cost me $250 and the Profit Lance course which cost me $67, not just some scrappy ebook claiming you can be rich overnight but then leaving you as though you’ve burned your money after that. I’ve heard enough of people getting fooled by such low-quality, high fluff ebooks, so I have developed a screening methology to research and query on forums and on search engines to check if:

1.Are those products scams?

2.What unique selling point do these products have that will add productivity and add value to my IM campaigns?

I can’t cover all the full list of screening process I have develop here right now(maybe in a later blog post), but what i can say is that by adopting that screening methology, i’ve really benefitted from buying high-quality, good value IM materials that have help me gain new knowledge and critical skills from!Do check them out in the “Product Reviews” menu above.

That was so much ranting about the cost i believe anyone who wants to venture into Internet Marketing successfully must be willing to pay-That is being willing to part with your finances and time to invest in knowledge, because although it is true that there are a few rare people who do make tons of money in a short time, 99% still take months of effort before achieving a sustainable income through IM. Having said that though, it is still financially cheaper and less time consuming if you do decide to take up an Internet Marketing course (I recommend The ProfitLance Course!) online which can help set you in the right direction faster.
